Early life

Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, famously known as Ney, was born in Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo, to Neymar Santos Sr. and Nadine da Silva. He was raised in a Christian household and inherited his name from his father, a former footballer who later became Ney’s advisor. Neymar has acknowledged his father’s pivotal role in his life, particularly in managing his finances and supporting his career growth.
As a child, Neymar displayed a passion for futsal and street football, crediting futsal for shaping his technical skills, quick decision-making, and ability to execute moves in confined spaces. These early experiences laid the foundation for his future success.
